Arlington Heights

• A male and female, 40-45 years old, were seen taking over-the-counter medications valued at $3,900 between 12:39 and 12:50 a.m. Oct. 27 from Jewel-Osco, 440 E. Rand Road.

• Leonid Aronov, 45, of the 900 block of West Happfield Drive, Arlington Heights, was arrested around 5:51 p.m. Oct. 25 at his home and charged with battery. Court date is Dec. 11.

• Thieves stole a women's light blue 6-speed bicycle between 8 a.m. Oct. 27 and noon Oct. 29 locked on the 0-100 block of South Vail. Value was estimated at $100.

• A man was seen taking eight Styrofoam tombstones, valued at $200, between 8:16 and 11 p.m. Oct. 26 from the front of a business at 1728 W. Algonquin Road. He was described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-10, slim build, wearing a black hat, blue vest, black pants and black shoes with white soles, and riding a red mountain bike.

• Thieves stole a 40-foot ladder between 11:45 p.m. Oct. 26 and 7 a.m. Oct. 27 locked behind International Plaza, 120 E. Golf Road. Value was estimated at $600.

• Burglars stole cash and keys between 5 p.m. Oct. 28 and 1 p.m. Oct. 29 out of an unlocked 2008 Toyota Camry on the 2400 block of North Kennicott.

• Burglars stole a garage door opener valued at $50 between 9 p.m. Oct. 28 and 4 a.m. Oct. 29 out of an unlocked 2006 Mazda 3 on the 1500 block of Woods Drive.

• Burglars stole a backpack, purse and laptop computer valued at $1,000 between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 12 a.m. Oct. 28 out of an unlocked 2016 Mazda MX-5 on the 1400 block of West Rand Road.

• Two men were seen forcing open a door around 11:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at Golf Liquors, 606 E. Golf Road. Nothing appeared to be missing.


• Vandals smashed a window around 10:45 a.m. Oct. 24 on a vehicle parked in a visitor area on the 700 block of Candleridge Court.

• Thieves stole a life-size Michael Meyers statue around 9 p.m. Oct. 24 from the front porch at a home on the 1000 block of Paddock Place. Value was estimated at $500.

Des Plaines

• Burglars ransacked 11 unlocked vehicles between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and 6:25 a.m. Oct. 24 on the 700 block of Pearson, 1500 block of Wicke Avenue, 1400 block of White, 2100 block of Ash, and 2200 block of Spruce Avenue. Offenders took a jewelry box and jewelry, valued at $10,000, out of a Toyota RAV4. A backpack, shoes, headphones and hoodie and leggings -- value estimated at $490 -- were taken out of a Mitsubishi Eclipse.

• Thieves stole a Chevrolet Cruz Oct. 13 from Advantage Rent A Car, 2170 Mannheim Road.

• A victim lost his cellphone between 7 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 24 in the Coaster Co. of America warehouse, 255 Wille Road. Value was estimated at $800.

• Thieves stole the tailgate between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 20 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 21 from a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck parked by the front door at J & J Tire Repair.

Elk Grove Village

• Burglars broke into a 2003 Chevrolet Z71 work truck between 5 and 8::45 p.m. Oct. 14 on the 1100 block of West Devon Avenue and stole several work tools. Value was estimated at $996.

Hanover Park

• Ivan Carillo, 18, of the 800 block of Schaumburg Road, Streamwood, was arrested around 12:22 p.m. Oct. 22 during a traffic stop at Center and Laurel and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Hoffman Estates

• Paul J. Lintner, 36, of the 0-100 block of West Johnson Street, Palatine, was arrested around 8:14 p.m. Oct. 20 at Higgins and Sutton roads and charged with retail theft. The report said a security agent for Target, 2800 Sutton Road, saw him take merchandise valued at $349. Court date is Nov. 13.

Mount Prospect

• Burglars ransacked three unlocked vehicles between 9:20 p.m. Oct. 23 and 5:30 a.m. Oct. 24. A bag of candy was taken out of a 2010 Nissan Altima on the 1300 block of Robert Drive. Nothing was missing out of a 2004 Toyota Sienna on the 1400 block of Robert Drive and out of a 2013 Honda Odyssey on the 1400 block of South HIckory.

• Thieves stole a 2016 Nissan Versa between 10 p.m. Oct. 23 and 3:34 a.m. Oct. 24 on the 1200 block of Birch Drive. The car was found on the median at Route 83 near I-290.


• Burglars stole a personal check and other items between Oct. 13 and 17 out of an unlocked 2009 Hyundai sedan on the 1400 block of North Winslowe Drive.


• Yazmin Espinal, 26, of the 1000 block of Bryant Street, Aurora, was arrested around 9 a.m. Oct. 20 during a traffic stop on the 700 block of South Springinsguth Road and charged with felony burglary, felony use of a forged credit card and traffic violations.


• Jessica Calo, 22, of the 100 block of Rosewood Drive, Streamwood, was arrested around 9:52 p.m. Oct. 19 at Target, 1001 S. Sutton Rd., and charged with retail theft. The report said an employee saw her go to a self-checkout and scan only two of nine items. Value was estimated at $158. The report said she distracted an employee by telling him someone was stealing things in the cosmetics section.


• A man exposed himself around 4:57 p.m. Oct. 26 to a young girl in the shoe department at Walmart, 1455 Lake-Cook Road. The girl left to find her mother and the man disappeared.
