Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a bicyclist early Saturday on Route 120 in Grayslake.

Grayslake Police Chief Phil Perlini said the 27-year-old victim from Lake Villa was riding a bicycle eastbound on Route 120 at West Trail when he was struck by the westbound auto at about 3:54 a.m.

The vehicle continued driving west on Route 120 after the collision, Perlini said.

The bicyclist was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with unknown injuries, Perlini said. His name was not released by police.

Perlini said police are looking for a red vehicle, possibly a Honda SUV, with serious front end damage. It may be missing a bumper and driver's side mirror, he said.

Grayslake police are investigating the crash with help from the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team, Perlini said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Grayslake police at (847) 223-8515.
