Kane County

• A leaf blower, two hedge trimmers and two chain saws -- worth a combined $3,700 -- were stolen between 9 p.m. Thursday and 3:41 p.m. Monday after someone cut the locks on trailers parked on the 7N500 block of Route 25 near St. Charles.

• Robert W. Kyle, 53, of the 800 block of Watson Street, Aurora, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to yield after a traffic stop at 8:42 p.m. Thursday, according to a sheriff's report. A deputy found evidence of crack cocaine use and paraphernalia in the truck belonging to Kyle, who is on parole, the report said.

• Brittany M. Howle, 22, of the 2600 block of Carlisle Lane, Hampshire, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol concentration of .08 or more, and improper lane use at about 9:26 p.m. Thursday after she crashed into a guard rail near Interstate 90 and Hennig Road near Huntley, according to a sheriff's report. A breath test showed a .174 BAC, the report said.
