Grayslake fire chief named president of state association

Grayslake Fire Protection District Chief John Christian has been named president of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association.

Christian will lead the association's board of directors and serve as the primary spokesman on state and national issues that affect the 1,500 state fire service leaders that make up the organization.

Christian has more than 30 years with the Grayslake Fire Protection District and was appointed chief in 2009.
