Rack House hosts Smoketoberfest in Arlington Heights

Rack House in Arlington Heights will host its first Smoketoberfest, an Oktoberfest celebration in the restaurant's parking lot and beer garden, on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The event from 1 to 5 p.m. will feature food and beverage specials and kids activities, including a bounce house and tattoos. There will also be a stein-holding competition, with one male and one female winner advancing to the semifinals in Grant Park, followed by the finals in Boston.

A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the 100 Club of Chicago, which supports families of first responders who have died in the line of duty.

The restaurant at 222 E. Algonquin Road will also be open for regular dining from 11 a.m. to midnight.
