Coats, outerwear sought in Lake County for veterans

Hawthorn Woods police are joining the Lake County Sheriff's Office, the Veteran's Assistance Commission, and several local law enforcement agencies and high schools to collect coats and outerwear for the Lake County Law Enforcement Veteran's Coat Drive. The collection is ongoing through Wednesday, Nov. 8. New or gently used coats, gloves, hats, socks and scarves can be dropped off at the Hawthorn Woods police station, 2 Lagoon Drive. Donated items will be delivered to the Midwest Veterans Closet at 2323 Green Bay Road in North Chicago.
