How to help Rollins Savanna in Grayslake

Volunteers are invited to a restoration work day from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve in Grayslake.

Volunteers should dress in long pants and sturdy shoes and bring work gloves. Meet at the Washington Street parking lot and park by the green house.

Fall work days involve brush clearing, seed collection and tree and shrub planting. All ages invited. No prior experience necessary. If the weather is questionable, contact Site Steward Meredith Churchman, (847) 309-0422, to confirm before heading out.

Work days are scheduled weekend at forest preserves throughout Lake County. Visit www.lcfpd.org for more information.
