Friendship Village's Silver Games end with fishing derby

A popular fishing derby capped off Friendship Village's weeklong Silver Games in Schaumburg Friday.

The 10th annual Silver Games was expected to be the most successful yet, with an estimated 350 participants above the age of 62.

More than 30 events were held from Monday to Friday, including quarterback toss, seated floor hockey, soccer penalty kicks, Sudoku and archery.

This year's new events included laser tag, arcade car racing and skee ball.

The Silver Games are coordinated by Friendship Village and held in cooperation with the Schaumburg Park District, The Barn and the Roosevelt University Institute for Continued Learning.
