Four people were arrested last month in Arlington Heights as part of a nationwide crackdown on prostitution, authorities said Thursday.

The Arlington Heights Police Department conducted a sting at a motel near Arlington Heights and Algonquin roads on July 20, resulting in the four arrests. Charged with misdemeanor solicitation of a sexual act were:

• Ulzii Ganbat, 35, of the 3400 block of Salem Walk in Northbrook.

• Cary Wicker, 22, of the 0-100 block of South Vail Avenue in Arlington Heights.

• Jaymin Patel, 26, of the 200 block of Grissom Lane in Hoffman Estates.

• Alejandro Nava-Benhumea, 35, of the 0-100 block of Villa Verde Drive in Buffalo Grove.

In Cook County, the sheriff's office made another 137 sex solicitation arrests -- eight of those in Rosemont. The Lake County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged 19 others.

Nationwide, the crackdown resulted in more than 1,000 arrests between June 28 and July 31.
