Island Lake board to vote on budget

The Island Lake village board is set to approve a long-overdue municipal budget Thursday night. The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave. The proposed budget predicts the village will spend about $8.2 million on staff salaries, public projects and other costs, and that village hall will collect that much in property taxes, fees and other revenue. The fiscal year began May 1. Officials had said the budget was delayed because of concerns about state funding. Officials also are scheduled to discuss computer services and a video gambling application from a local gas station.
