Highland Park Verizon store robbed by gunman

A gunman robbed a Verizon store in Highland Park on Friday morning.

No one was injured in the 10:40 a.m. stickup at the store, 2090 Skokie Valley Road. After ordering an employee to lay on the ground, the robber took several unspecified electronic devices and fled, police said.

The thief left in a silver car driven by a second man, police said.

No customers were in the store.

The gunman was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and thin, police said. He wore a bandanna as a headband and a scarf to hide his face.

Police didn't have a description of his accomplice.
