Sprinkler system puts out fire in Naperville

A sprinkler system is being credited for dousing the flames of a fire on the 100 block of Ambassador Drive in Naperville Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

A fire alarm summoned the Naperville Fire Department to the commercial building at 1:24 p.m. Saturday. The alarm was quickly followed by a 911 call from inside the building, officials said.

Firefighters reported smoke showing from outside the building, but confirmed all occupants made it out of the structure safely, officials said.

Firefighters made entry into the building and determined four sprinkler heads had doused the flames, officials said.

The fire was deemed accidental and electrical in nature, officials said. The total cost of damages are unknown.
