ECC, Bradley team up

Elgin Community College and Bradley University officials will sign an agreement today that will allow high-achieving ECC students an opportunity to apply for a $3,500 scholarship toward Bradley's tuition. Under the agreement, 20 Presidents' Scholarships - $3,500 apiece - will be available to ECC students transferring to Bradley. To be eligible, students must have a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher and either 30 transferable hours or an ECC associate degree.

Minnesota governor to speak

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will be the keynote speaker at the Lake County Republican Federation's 48th annual spring gala April 16 at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. A cocktail reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are $100 each or $1,000 for a table of 10. Pizza exhibit at children's museum

Kohl Children's Museum's newest traveling exhibition, "Pizza: Any Way you Slice It!" teaches the basics of math and playful, open-ended exploration based on one of America's favorite foods. Kids learn to make pizza, deliver pizza and pretend to eat pizza in the exhibit's pizza parlor, pizza kitchen, giant pizza couch, slice-it-up table, and more.
