Over her career, country star Reba McEntire managed to bridge the gap between country and pop with her bluegrass-inspired tunes and effervescent charm, hitting the Billboard Hot Country charts with 24 No. 1 singles and putting songs like "I'm A Survivor" in front of mainstream audiences. She brings her catalog of favorites to Rosemont this weekend in anticipation of her upcoming CD/DVD pairing "My Chains Are Gone," a collection of some of her favorite hymns and gospel classics.

A lesson in rock history

Welcome to the 'Hotel California' tour
With one ear toward country and another toward the soft rock of the early '70s, the Grammy-winning Eagles have released six No. 1 albums since the band's debut in 1972. And even though the lineup has changed some in the last five decades, hits such as "Desperado," "Witchy Woman," "Take It to the Limit" and, of course, "Hotel California" will be conjured up when the classic rock band hits Chicago with the "Hotel California 2022 tour" this weekend.

Feel the earth move

DZ Winterfest
DZ Winterfest, a slightly chillier spinoff from Ben Arguelles and DZ Records' annual summer DZ Fest, pops up this weekend with some great acts from Chicago and across the nation. Admission to the concert - featuring Morgan Powers, Devin Godzicki, Bob Kat, The King of Mars, Soultru, Kokomono, Caught in 22, Hunt Hunt Hunt Camp, Morgan Gold and Space Gators - will benefit the National Honor Society at the host school, Argo Community High School in southwest suburban Summit.
