Celebrate the life of the late heavy metal icon Ronnie James Dio with a star-studded birthday celebration streaming virtually this weekend to raise funds for the Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund founded in memory of the famed vocalist. Featuring archival footage from Dio's life, the stream also will include a mix of conversations with and performances by Rob Halford, Sammy Hagar, Tenacious D's Jack Black and Kyle Gass, Lzzy Hale, Sebastian Bach, Lena Hall, Tony Iommi, Lita Ford, Glen Sobel and many more. Viewers also can get their hands on some one-of-a-kind merchandise through sales and an auction, with proceeds going to the fund, dedicated to cancer prevention, research and education.

Chill Nation fest
This weekend, Prairie House Tavern hosts Chill Nation, a night full of country and folk music for a special cause. Artists Alex Smith, Gabrielle Mooney, Nicole Lewis and Grammy-nominated Kent Wells will take the Buffalo Grove stage to benefit Keshet, a Northbrook-based organization dedicated to offering educational and recreational opportunities to children and adults with disabilities around the Chicago area. Prairie House's kitchen will be open, so drinks, dinner and appetizers will be available for purchase.

Back in time with Tony Ocean
As fans are clamoring for live music's return, Elk Grove performer Tony Ocean is more than happy to answer the call. Starting this spring, Ocean brought his Rat Pack-inspired show to various venues throughout the Chicago suburbs as he invited guests to follow him back in time with classics from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr. and more. Joining his semiregular Friday night performances at Schaumburg's Chicago Prime Steakhouse, Ocean also will be performing in Addison next week. Summerland Tour
Relive the carefree summer days of younger times as Everclear returns to town with the pretty-much-annual Summerland Tour, founded by the band's frontman Art Alexakis. Sporting a lineup that includes alternative rock hitmakers Hoobastank and Wheatus and special guest AEIR, the tour settles in with a heavy dose of nostalgia at Chicago's Concord Hall.

Everyday Fantastic is fantastic
Their Schubas debut may be sold out, but as pop-rock band Everyday Fantastic readies for their shot opening for The Mild West next week, they're also on the verge of dropping some new music. The band's catchy pop single #8220;Runaway,#8221; which comes out Friday on streaming services, is a perfect complement to The Mild West's recent #8220;Rendezvous,#8221; the band's highly infectious ode to infatuation. And with Everyday Fantastic migrating to Chicago (or back to the Chicago area for two of the members) from the band's birthplace at Indiana University, we expect to hear more from this up-and-coming act. Those of you lucky enough to have tickets for next Thursday's pairing are in for a treat.
