Dining: Outdoor tailgating at Whirlyball; City Works, Old Town Pour House close temporarily

Beatrix: The Oak Brook and Chicago restaurants recently introduced three-course meals to-go — $20 for breakfast, $25 for lunch and $35 for dinner. Available for pickup or delivery, breakfast options include a starter (avocado or burnt honey toast), an entree (spicy chicken tinga, egg-white omelet, pepper and egg white sandwich or lemon pancakes), and juice (power greens or mango, orange and pineapple nectar) or a large latte. Lunch options feature an app (Kung pao cauliflower, Kennebec fries, hummus), an entree (mushroom and quinoa burger, enlightened Caesar salad, spicy poblano chicken sandwich) and a dessert (Oh My! Tailgate time

Because of the new indoor dining restrictions in Illinois, WhirlyBall in Naperville, Vernon Hills and Chicago is taking its food and drinks offerings outside with its new Build Your Own Tailgate Package. Here's the deal: Guests who book indoor activities (still allowed by the state as of press time) such as WhirlyBall, LaserTag, etc., can reserve a designated socially distanced tailgate area in the parking lot at WhirlyBall where they can order food and drinks, including 30 wings for $25; cheese, pepperoni or sausage pizza for $15; and domestic beer buckets for $15 and import buckets for $19 (buckets include five beers each). The packages are available by reservation only at whirlyball.tripleseat.com/party_request/6402 as only a limited number of tables will be available. Tailgaters should dress for the weather and bring blankets, if needed. WhirlyBall will be adhering to state regulations inside and out, including social distancing, mask-wearing, extra sanitizing and more. Temporary closures

City Works Eatery and Pour House and Old Town Pour House: The Schaumburg, Vernon Hills and Wheeling locations of City Works Eatery and Pour House and the Naperville location of Old Town Pour House are now temporarily closed because of the increased restrictions on indoor dining in Illinois. The restaurants intend to reopen once the restrictions have been lifted, according to the restaurants' websites. The Old Town Pour House in Oak Brook will remain open for dining on the patio under a heated tent and for takeout and delivery through Sunday, Nov. 15. Hey Nonny: The Arlington Heights restaurant and entertainment venue will be open for outdoor dining on the heated patio and carryout through Saturday, Nov. 7. Since wine dinners can't be in-person right now, how about a virtual event? Wildfire is hosting a virtual wine dinner with Daryl and Lisa Groom of Groom Winery live on Zoom at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11. The Grooms will talk about the history of their winery and the event's pairings while participants nosh on a three-course dinner. The $175 per couple dinner, which includes two bottles of Groom wine (shiraz and sauvignon blanc), starts with fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil flatbread to share before moving on to two entrees of your choice (cedar-planked salmon, barbecued chicken or Parmesan-crusted New York strip steak) served with white cheddar au gratin potatoes and balsamic roasted vegetables. The meal ends with one dessert per person: Triple layer chocolate cake, homemade Key lime pie or homemade Door County cherry pie. Orders need to be placed by 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, with pickup no later than 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.
