For the holidays, Shaw's Crab House in Schaumburg is offering its own specialty pies for carry-out or overnight delivery. Try key lime pie with an almond and graham cracker crust or classic apple pie with a streusel crumble topping. For those wanting to send a pie overnight, the cost is $45 plus tax and shipping fees.

New seasonal menus

Il Poggiolo of Hinsdale is offering specialty seasonal menus through the winter season. Patrons can choose fresh Italian fare from executive chef Jim Kilberg including butternut squash cappellaci and a "pizza of the day" with five house specials that include salad, soup, pasta, a meat dish and dessert. For youngsters, there's an updated kids' menu that includes a complimentary dessert.
