Update: Lewis Black cancels Saturday show at the MAC

Comedian, author and Grammy Award winner Lewis Black has canceled his “It Gets Better Every Day” show that was supposed to tour to the McAninch Arts Center. Find more infor at lewisblack.com.

World premiere

Silk Road Rising and Momentary Theatre collaborate for the premiere of “My Dear Hussein,” Nahal Navidar's surrealistic tale inspired by his childhood experiences of growing up during the Iran-Iraq war. Directed by Tlaloc Rivas, the play unfolds through the eyes of 4-year-old Parvaneh, whose parents try to shield her from the war despite the missiles exploding outside her door.

Match point

Set during a fictional U.S. Open semifinals match between rising Russian star Sergei and American champion Tim, “The Last Match” by Anna Ziegler examines pivotal moments in these athletes' lives on and off the court. Christopher Sheard and Luigi Sottile co-star in Writers Theatre's production directed by Keira Fromm.
