Island Lake welcomes summer with carnival, fireworks

Celebrate the official start of summer with the Island Lake Carnival and Fireworks this weekend.

Carnival hours will be from 5-10 p.m. Friday, June 21; 1-10 p.m. Saturday, June 22; and 1-6 p.m. Sunday, June 23. The event will take place at Water Tower Park, 429 W. State Road, Island Lake.

Carnival rides, games and concessions will be provided by Skinners' Amusements. A fireworks display will take place at dusk Saturday.

Admission is free, with tickets required for the rides. Ride wristbands will be available for $20 from 5-9 p.m. Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday. Discounts will be available Sunday.
