Dining out: Rep's Place is ready to go Rockin' in the Park

Rockin' in the Park

Are you ready? It's going to be a party Saturday, June 15, when Rep's Place hosts Rockin' in the Park from 2 to 11 p.m. to celebrate one year in business in downtown Rolling Meadows. Head to Kimball Hill Park for beer, burgers and lots of music. Come hungry for the pig roast at 4 p.m., which is when the music kicks off with indie rockers Strange Heart. Bad Medicine (Bon Jovi tribute) rocks the stage at 5:30 p.m. and Lava Rock (classic rock covers) amps up the music at 7:30.

Dog Days of Summer

Looking forward to the weekend? Harry Caray's in Lombard is. Live music and food and drink specials are a good way to start your Friday evening on Harry's Patio, now through August. The whole family (including your dogs) is welcome. June specials include Sam Adams Boston Lager, Sam Adams Seasonal and New Amsterdam Gin Cocktails for $4. For those looking for a lighter meal during summer, fast-casual Cafe Zupas recently added some fresh flavors to its menu. Try one of six new protein bowls (southwest, garden, steak Cobb, Mediterranean, Asian steak and quinoa, and harvest quinoa), chef-crafted salads (Thai steak and avocado chicken chop), gourmet sandwiches (turkey avocado club, steak and cheese, and chipotle steak club), housemade soups (chicken noodle and chickpea and vegetable) and kids' items (mac and cheese, tomato basil pasta, veggie cup and a fresh fruit cup).
