Hey! Ho! Let's go! Ramones-inspired show to play Chicago

First things first: "Four Chords and a Gun," a theatrical hybrid inspired by seminal punk band The Ramones, is not a musical.

Broadway in Chicago made that clear Tuesday when it announced the show - which debuted in Toronto - will play the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, 175 E. Chestnut St., Chicago, beginning May 18.

Written by John Ross Bowie ("The Big Bang Theory"), the show centers on the tension-filled 1979 recording sessions for "End of the Century" with über producer Phil Spector. According to the release, "Four Chords and a Gun" is a "play about The Ramones followed by a concert."

Individual tickets range from $39.95 to $69.95. They're available beginning Wednesday, March 20, by phone (800) 775-2000 or online at broadwayinchicago.com.
