At Work teams discover traditional and unconventional ways to workout

In an age of diversity, we are lucky to have a variety of exercises to fit anyone's interest or lifestyle.

Traditional exercises such as circuit training or running have a strong presence, but unconventional methods such as BOSU and yoga have become popular with At Work team participants.

Kimberly Moore, team captain of Redstone Wealth Advisor's "Redstone Renegades," says her team member Tom Manzardo, "recently purchased medicine balls and a BOSU ball to work on his core/leg strength" and "plans to attend the BOSU class at The Club at Prairie Stone."

"Team WOW" of Wings Program Inc. enjoys a combination of exercises. Team captain Judy Flint says their favorite workouts are "walking on treadmill, running, weights, and yoga."

Monica O'Byrne, team captain of Coldwell Banker's "Team Downsizers," says her team did a yoga class together and invited co-workers to join along. She says, "It was very challenging, but really enjoyable and fun for us to do together."

Many teams continue to find ways to fit in as much exercise as they can with busy lives and schedules.

Claudia Lujano, team captain for Tempco Electric Heater Corp's "Guerreros Poderosos" (or powerful warriors), says, "Tempco offers Zumba classes taught by our own trainers Tuesday and Thursday nights" and goes on to say that "there are numerous teams that walk around the 200K square foot plant prior to their shift beginning and during their lunch breaks".

Fitz Chem LLC's team "Skinny Dippers" is going above and beyond with their workout regime with a period of stretching, stairs, and circuit training that includes sumo squats, side shuffles down the hall, lunges, mountain climbers and more.

Midwest Moving and Storage's Kari-Ann Ryan, team captain of "Midwest Movers and Shakers," says her favorite workouts are early ones and proves it by hitting the gym at four in the morning before work.

Other teams are awaiting warmer weather to take advantage of outdoor activities.

Jim Louis of the Daily Herald's "PC Flubber" says he is going to go "bike riding as soon as it warms up."

I have to agree with Heather Mares of NEC Display's "Leave it Blank" when she says, "When it comes to cardio, I prefer to walk/run outside on trails. You get to enjoy the fresh air, chirping birds, and nature; plus I always get excited about what beautiful scenery awaits me on the next turn".

At Work teams continue to find innovative ways to exercise while trying new activities, and are sticking to routines and working together as a team.
