Contestants find strength with teams
Fittest Loser At Work contestants are pushing through week three of the challenge and are working together to overcome obstacles as a team.
With busy and conflicting schedules, many teams find it difficult to meet face-to-face, but that isn't stopping those determined to win.
Team captain Jennifer Voss of Mount Prospect's team “The POWER Crew” says her team “checks in daily in a group text and reach out to invite each other when attending classes.”
Jennifer Anaya of Wood Dale Park District's “Bike Fight Fit” says, “We have learned that we are all VERY busy people with demanding professional schedules. We try to meet at least once a week at spin class at Wood Dale Park District. Even though we do not meet as often as we like, each individual is taking additional classes, getting in their steps and making the needed changes to their diets to help us meet our weight-loss goals”
Some teams are changing old routines to make room for workouts.
Aileen Tischauser, team captain of Elk Grove Park District's “Elk Strong” says her team has decided to “schedule lunch workouts instead of lunch restaurants.”
Many teams are finding ways to make the best out of the challenge and to have fun.
Laura House of Fitz Chem LLC's “Skinny Dippers” says, “I think that everyone's humor is a strength,” which is obvious after seeing their engagement on the Daily Herald's Fittest Loser Facebook page.
Some contestants are struggling with weekend fumbles, at-work temptations, and changing old eating habits, but are motivated to continue stepping in the right direction with good habits and keeping each other accountable.
