Barrington's 'Oscar Shorts' film festival returning to Catlow Theater

The Barrington Cultural Commission will host its seventh annual "Oscar Shorts" film festival next month at Catlow Theater in the village's downtown.

The first showing will be Sat. Feb. 16, with subsequent events on Saturday, Feb. 23 and Sunday, Feb. 24.

The showings begin at noon and run until 4 p.m. and feature the 10 Oscar-nominated short films in the animated and live action categories. Wine and beer will be available at the Catlow during the festival, as well as food selections from the adjacent Showtime Eatery and surrounding restaurants.

Tickets are on sale and may be purchased online at barrington-il.gov/oscars. Call (847) 304-3406 for ticketing assistance.

"Interest in the Oscar-nominated short films has increased every year since 2013 when we first partnered with the Catlow to bring them to Barrington," said Jack Schaefer, a member of the Barrington cultural commission and an event organizer.
