Actress Taraji P. Henson to appear at Woodfield Mall

Film and TV star Taraji P. Henson will advocate for mental health awareness during an appearance Saturday, Jan. 12, at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.

Henson - known for movie roles in "Hidden Figures," "Proud Mary" and other films, as well as her starring role on TV's "Empire" - will be at the Lord & Taylor store at 1 p.m. Customers who purchase a #stigmafree T-shirt will be eligible to meet and take a photo with Henson, who is an ambassador for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in addition to an award-winning actress.

The shirts must be purchased between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, and Henson will only be on hand for a limited time, so it is possible not everyone will get a chance to meet her. Proceeds from the shirt benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
