Comfort needed along with a style update
My husband and I have been trying for years to make our house our nest. We never found the time because family members concerns and health issues took priority. In 2016 we had our kitchen and flooring remodeled. The day the contractors left, my mother fell and once again, decorating took a back seat.
I fell in November last year and broke both my legs. Just as I was recovering, in January my mother had monthly hospitalizations and my husband's cancer took off like a rocket. Both situations have left little time to make the house my husband's haven. I did manage to get a kitchen table and recliner. We had disagreed about the recliner from a decorating perspective, but his comfort trumped aesthetics.
Mom passed away in August. Now managing my husband's rapidly progressing cancer has left little time or resources to make it happen. It would be amazing if I could get his nest in comfort and beauty so he could enjoy! I'm hoping to change out our 20-year-old sectional with something new. I'd like to add a TV stand, book storage, end table and entry way organization. Thanks for considering our entry.

The homeowners are struggling to create a space that offers comfort, yet looks stylish and is functional. The husband likes recliners while the wife would like to update the space with something new and add a TV stand or storage to help organize the different functions of this room without dominating the space.
• O'Reilly's suggestion is to replace the current sofa with a leather reclining sofa and a matching reclining chair from Smith Brothers of Berne. The sofa can recline in all three seat positions. We have more than 130 top grain leather options. The quality is amazing with a lifetime warranty.
• To warm up this space, Debra from Acanthus Design Group is suggesting an area rug and a nice piece of art above the mantel. Debra also suggests a sofa table place against the wall with a pair of benches below for additional seating for guests.
• As for the TV and media center, O'Reilly's offers a great selection of styles. With each piece being custom made, we can modify media centers to accommodate the needs of each customer. This photo shows a piece that can manage this family's TV and media needs but also accommodate books and anything else they want to add.
