Painted kitchen cabinets are flaking

We have been living in our house for 46 years. The paint on my cabinets is flaking off. The counters are very worn and outdated.

I would love to see refinished cabinets and new counters to revitalize my kitchen.

Budget: $8,000-$10,000 depending on finishes, plumbing, etc.

The Silvers stated that they have painted the cabinets in the past, which unfortunately does not last and will start peeling and flaking over time. The countertops may still be original and would look great replaced with a more updated material and color.

Suggestions

• We would suggest refacing the cabinets and using a light wood or white finish. The kitchen would really brighten up with a lighter color.

• New, modern cabinet pulls in a brushed stainless steel would really accent the cabinets nicely too.

• We would like to see a nice granite or natural stone countertop in a light beige with flecks of darker color for a little contrast.

• A new stainless steel sink and "touch control" faucet would finish up the counter space and really give this kitchen a "WOW" factor.
