Sound check: Indulge your inner emo with Yellowcard's Ryan Key

If I could find you now ...

Ryan Key, the former lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the now-defunct pop-punk band Yellowcard, brings the emo vibes back for a night with a solo show and DJ set at Lisle's BaseCamp. Chicago's own Taking Back Emo and DJ GoodSex pack the warmup grooves and, presumably, the extra guyliner for the evening. BaseCamp Pub, 5750 Lakeside Drive, Lisle. $15-$20; $50 meet-and-greet package available. (331) 777-4712 or ticketweb.com. 7 p.m. Friday, March 2

Taste of Cairo

WAMI Live and McLeod Media Company present a night of punk rock and metal from the Chicago area with Taste of Cairo at West Chicago's Cairo Ale House. Jury of Fears headlines the lineup, which includes Silent Redemption, Marwood's Fall, Welcome to Jonestown, Guardsman and Beta Waves. Don't miss the band giveaways, food and a special tapping of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, too. Cairo Ale House, 2009 Franciscan Way, West Chicago. $7-$10; craft beer flight package also available. (630) 876-9600 or events.wamilive.com. 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3
