A little more pickup for this Silverado
Besides the really fast Yenko Camaros I wrote about last week, Specialty Vehicle Engineering now offers something to drivers who really want to haul: a hopped-up pickup.
It's a modified 2018 Chevrolet Silverado standard cab with a short box that is boosted to 800 horsepower. Under hood is a custom-built, 416-cubic-inch LT-1 based engine, which is supercharged and features such race-inspired parts as forged aluminum pistons and CNC-ported LT-1 cylinder heads.
The powerplant breathes through custom stainless steel headers, high-flow cats and a stainless steel cat-back dual exhaust system with large, 3½ inch tips. Stopping duties come by way of six-piston Brembo brake calipers, which get Yenko artwork.
The New Jersey company swaps out stock Chevy wheels for torque thrust-style wheels with a gunmetal finish and sYc center caps (the sYc logo being a nod to Don Yenko's muscle-car marketing during the 1960s). The truck's suspension has also been modified with lower springs and unique front sway bar.
If the upgraded performance doesn't make it stand out, the cosmetic tweaks will. Up front, the hood gets a unique flat black insert, featuring four nonfunctioning louvers. There's also stripes on the sides of the hood cowl, touting that there's 800 horsepower coming from underneath.
There's also a side stripe and around back, an iconic red, white and blue Yenko crest in the middle of the tailgate, plus an “800 HP” badge. There's also a Yenko crest on the doors.
Inside, there's embroidered floor mats and Yenko doorsill plates. There's also a cool optional leather package, which is accented with black and white houndstooth. Only 25 of these will be made and each comes with a three-year or 36,000-mile limited warranty on engine, supercharger assembly and non-powertrain components. Pricing is around $46,000 plus the cost of the truck.

MB-AMG Project One boat
Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing have collaborated for 11 years and to celebrate the anniversary, the two created the Cigarette Racing 515 Project One. It's a super high-tech speedboat inspired by the upcoming Mercedes-AMG Project One super sports car.
The boat's deck is constructed completely of carbon fiber to reduce the total weight and lower the center mass of the boat. Carbon fiber is also used for the inner structural laminate of the hull, forward bulkheads, cabin liner, engine hatch, consoles and storage hatches to significantly reduce the overall weight.
The Cigarette Racing Team worked in close cooperation with Gorden Wagener, chief design officer for Daimler AG, to design the hallmark characteristics of the boat. It features a matte black and silver paint and special badging.
Inside, there's extensive use of Dinamica and seat backs constructed of exposed-weave carbon fiber. Power comes from a pair of Mercury Racing QC4v (Quad Cam 4 Valve) engines and M8 stern drives, delivering up to 3,100 horsepower. These sophisticated powerplants are dual calibration engines, which enable the operator to switch engine power levels through an electronic key fob. The Race key fob unlocks an additional 1,550 horsepower (maxing out at 3,100 hp), requiring race fuel. The Pleasure key fob is used for operating at 1,350 horses with 91-octane fuel. Top speed is rated at 140 mph.
