Stealthy Blackbird sports car inspired by jet

Rezvani's Beast Alpha X supercar is fast, but for those who feel a deeper need for speed, they've released a special edition it calls the Blackbird.

Inspired by the once supersecret Lockheed SR-71 “Blackbird” military spy jet, the car is painted all black. That stealth look carries over to the wheels, too, which are deep-dish 18-inch forged alloys.

Beyond the car's cosmetics, power has been massively boosted. The standard Alpha X is capable of 600 horsepower but this Blackbird-edition's turbocharged, 2.5-liter engine pumps out 700 horsepower. Transmissions include either a six-speed manual or an optional sequential automatic. AP Racing brakes are standard and can be had with carbon ceramic discs.

The body is constructed of a handcrafted, high-grade carbon composite and features a removable targa top, as well as Rezvani's trick Sidewinder doors. Inside the cabin, there's carbon fiber door panels, additional carbon fiber detailing and a leather and an Alcantara sport steering wheel.

If you want to be the pilot of one, lock yours in soon. Only five Blackbirds will be built, with each having a starting price of $225,000.
