Letter: 'Crony capitalism' behind renewable energy push
I just read an article that the Goldman Sachs analyst Jeff Currie said, "$3.8 trillion of investment in renewables moved fossil fuels from 82% to 81% of overall energy consumption" in 10 Years. What? This is a very poor return on investment. Only the federal government could perform so poorly and still be in business. Sorry, but I want a refund. I'll bet that $3.8 trillion could build enough nuclear power plants to power the whole United States - and then some. Maybe then we would have stable energy.
The government subsidizes "renewable energy" (which is not renewable) and the rich get richer along with connected politicians. While the average "Joe" gets higher energy bill and less reliable energy. What a deal. When the federal government chooses what businesses to subsidize, it's call Crony Capitalism (which doesn't work, but sadly that's all most politicians know).
We also get new environmental hazards like bird-killing windmills and hazardous waste from solar and battery production. The article also mentions that there is an emerging body of research also suggesting that renewable energy production may itself affect the weather, and potentially climate, in untoward ways.
This information is from an article in the Healthy Skeptic by Kevin Roche entitled "Renewable Energy B.S."
