Letter: Not seeing same bias that Trump fans see

I often see criticism of your paper based on there being a lack of conservative and Trumpian content. When it comes to your paid columnists, this is clearly not the case.

First, there are Michael Barone and Debra Saunders. These two writers will occasionally perform a feint toward objectivity before finding some way to always criticize the Democrats and President Biden. The reality challenged Michael York doesn't even bother. Here, I am assuming that York is a paid editorialist and not someone's cousin that we are trying to salve.

Finally, we have the ideological love child of Milton Friedman and Ayn Rand in the writer Veronica de Rugy. Are there no Keynesians? I assume that Adam Smith is no longer writing, but what about Paul Krugman or Robert Reich?

You might argue that Jamie Stiehm and Susan Estrich are your liberal writers, but when have they defended policies promoted by the Democratic Party? What is the ratio of Democratic policy promotion in their articles versus potshots at liberals and weird articles about some obscure lawsuit regarding sexual harassment?

In her defense, Estrich did just write a nice article about Biden. That was right before her laudatory article about Liz Cheney that had the odd headline of Liz Cheney for President, even though I didn't see those words in the article.

So how about balancing your editorial page or just declaring your paper a not-so-subtle Republican mouthpiece?
