Letter: Challenge politicians on gender issues

Politicians who oppose having classroom lessons include sexual orientation or gender identity need to be pressed to clarify where exactly they draw the line. I have yet to hear a politician take issue with classroom materials that involve heterosexual couples or people who adhere to gender stereotypes matching their assigned sex. When these politicians try to frame their position as neutral and not anti-LGBTQ, they need to be challenged on this rather than being taken at face value.
