Letter: Hearing is just an 'infomercial' for Dems

I started to watch the first prime-time Jan. 6 Committee hearing. It soon became evident that this was not a hearing in the traditional sense whereby two sides take turns questioning and cross examining witnesses to shift and winnow testimonial evidence in order to arrive at the facts. This "hearing" was nothing more than an infomercial for the Democrats.

No other viewpoint nor cross examination was represented. The two pseudo-Republicans on the committee were not appointed by the Republican leadership and are no longer endorsed by Republicans in their home district.

There is an old saying in the legal profession that in this kind of one-sided "grand jury" setting, a prosecutor could indict a ham sandwich. The committee may pretend to be conducting an objective investigation but it's a foregone conclusion they will conclude Donald Trump is to blame.
