Letter: Why do politicians get a break on Jan. 6 riot?

On June 4, the Daily Herald reported the Justice Department would not charge Mark Meadows or Dan Scavino for refusing to cooperate with the investigation, but the ex-leader of the Proud Boys was charged with conspiracy.

I dislike this extremist group or any other group of people that had anything to do with the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, but I do not understand how politicians get away with what they do wrong and other citizens get charged, and I strongly believe every person seen in the pictures and on videos should be charged and sent to a camp in the desert for one year.

I do not understand why we have two different set of rules one for politicians and one for the citizens of the United States. The politicians have got to be stopped and start following the same rules as we do.
