Time for the mandates to end

When will the local mask mandates be over? COVID has been present for almost two years now, and despite the fact that neither the masks (nor vaccines) have slowed the spread of this novel, mutating flu virus, how much longer are we going to let state and local government officials try to force us through the use of a mandate (not a legislative law) to continue to wear masks that provide little to no protection?

If you want to wear a mask, fine. That's your personal choice. But in a free society, should everyone be forced to wear one? And if so, for how much longer: six months, one year, five years, indefinitely?

Do you think we would have had the mass spread of the virus in the first place if the masks worked so well? Do you think these mask mandates are a way that government officials can feel as if they are doing something about the virus?
