Details key to rating Build Back Better

Two letters appeared in the Dec. 20 Fencepost.

One calls for Senate approval of Build Back Better for it's social safety net provisions. That letter must be referencing the Build Back Better Act; the current bill for $1,900,000,000,000 languishing in the Senate that also throws a lot of funding in other directions not committed to social safety nets.

The other letter applauds Build Back Better for it's commitment to rebuilding roads and bridges. That letter must be referencing the $1,200,000,000,000 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act approved in November. That bill commits less than 10% of the planned spending, or $110 billion, to roads and bridges.

It seems people are confused by the Build Back Better agenda promoted by the Biden Administration.

There are probably some good provisions in the package that would be beneficial to the American people mixed in with the usual commitments to special interests.

How about someone (I'm looking at you, Daily Herald) publishing an unbiased series that breaks down Build Back Better by it parts so we can be an informed electorate?

The 2022 elections are rapidly approaching, and many voters need to know this information so they can elect the public officials who can implement the laws necessary to impart positive change on our economy and society.
