Bravo to 35 new American citizens
What a wonderful headline: "More adding to diversity. America welcomes 35 new citizens at suburban ceremony."
New proud citizens from the countries of Ukraine, Mexico, Philippines, Canada, India, U.K., Guatemala, Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, China, Dominican Republic, Israel, Italy, Russia and Switzerland. As one new citizen stated, "It's real. I'm so happy to be a part of this great nation."
Wake up, America, this is what being a legal citizen of this wonderful country is all about. It is not about coming over our borders in droves illegally.
U.S.-Mexico border apprehensions for the fiscal year surpassed 1.1 million, with tens of thousands more heading our way right now.
The 35 individuals who were sworn in at the Chicago Botanic Garden have arrived here legally and become legal citizens as all of our ancestors have done for hundreds of years.
They must be commended for their hard work and vision to be productive and giving friends of the United States of America.
