Laws needed to sustain, promote clean energy

At ComEd, we've been working to promote clean energy for decades. And I'm proud to have been part of this team for 40 years. Our clean energy future isn't just hollow talk - we put our thoughts into action every day.

I'm the president of ECO team, ComEd's environmental employee resource group. I see firsthand how hard we work to make the world a better place. We've committed to electrify half of our vehicles by 2030, which would remove hundreds of tons of pollution from the air in our region. We've connected numerous community solar projects and look forward to the work to come.

But that's on a company level. On a personal level, I've worked next to ComEd employees as we've kayaked down the Chicago River and picked up litter from the banks. I've helped people learn about the benefits of composting and other sustainable environmental practices. And I've helped set up numerous meetings with the Shedd Aquarium, the Morton Arboretum, the Field Museum, and other local groups to create a strong partnership and improve Chicago's environment.

Clean energy is an increasingly large part of creating a healthier planet, and we're proud to be part of this movement. As a critical member of Chicago's community, we hope legislators will pass stable legislation to ensure we can keep providing dependable power while helping to create a cleaner world.
