In search of integrity in politics

I have followed the political landscape of our country since the tragedy at the White House on Jan. 6 and am amazed by what I have observed since that time. If you watched television that evening, you may recall how even members of the Republican Party wailed about our former president and his contributions to the insurrection. That was it. They, including Lindsey Graham, were through with this guy. You heard him say that didn't you?

Since that date, we have witnessed what I can only describe as some of the most hypocritical behavior I have experienced among grown men. There must have been some kind of divine intervention that occurred to alter their feelings about the man who so profusely disgraced his office and the nation on and prior to January 6. You heard what McConnell said about him at the impeachment hearings, didn't you? You heard what Graham and others said about him the evening of the insurrection. They were finished with the guy. Period.

Now, they even play golf with him and seemingly seek his council and favor. If he somehow was able to secure a fake image of the papal ring, I think some of them might even kiss it when they approach him.

Why does such garbage behavior not seem to bother us? Are we not to expect our representatives to be people of character and integrity? Why do we not seem to be profoundly insulted by this charade? I am.
