Letter to the editor: Scott Gartner for Antioch mayor

For generations, my family has represented our community in a variety of ways, prideful of Antioch's past while always hopeful for the future. I personally had the pleasure to be the State Representative of the 61st District for nearly 13 years, experiencing the many levels of government and how it should be for the people - not personal gain. It needs to be about the community and the residents.

Unfortunately, that is not the current situation in Antioch, and new leadership to usher in an era of change and prosperity is dearly needed. My hope for the future is renewed because I am endorsing and urging you to vote for Scott Gartner for mayor of Antioch.

Scott brings a new sense of purpose and hope that Antioch deserves, and it's been a pleasure knowing him for 16 years. He is the leader we've been waiting for.

A vibrant, prideful and energetic member of our community, Scott is a lawyer with a local practice and he's involved in the Rotary Club, Lions Club, the Planning and Zoning Board, Police and Fire Commission and the chamber of commerce. This experience gives him firsthand knowledge and experience of what's needed to make the village thrive.

Scott is also a single parent of two beautiful daughters. He's learned about co-parenting and how good decisions today will help shape the future for our children, adding to his vision of growth.

While Antioch continues to be embroiled in dirty politics that's marred our village's reputation for the past two decades, Scott has run a positive campaign looking to a brighter future for all of us. He's taken that message to the community, holding events in your neighborhoods, going door to door and - most importantly - listening.

Scott understands dirty tricks don't build a community, but instead destroy it. His character, integrity and love of Antioch is what we need and deserve to become united and move forward as one. He deserves your vote on April 6, ousting the establishment in order to usher in an era of growth, honor, integrity and leadership into the mayor's office and throughout Antioch.
