A double standard on political labels

Your "Radicalization of Kevin Greeson" article (Jan. 17) was interesting. However, I laughed when ProPublica referred to CNN as a mainstream news source and Newsmax as a pro-Trump, far-right outlet. It's no secret that CNN is a far-left, anti-Trump outlet that has attacked the president (and disregarded his achievements) for the past four years. The same goes for MSNBC and the corporate media outlets (CBS, NBC, ABC here in Chicago) who follow the narrative of the ultraliberal New York Times. If you're going to label Fox News and Newsmax as far-right, it's only fair to label CNN, etc., as far-left. Why the double standard?

I do applaud the Daily Herald for offering a more balanced analysis of the news over the past four years, compared to the strident, anti-Trump bias of the two main Chicago dailies, which I have stopped reading. Continue the good work.
