Base your opinions on facts, not others' biases

Where do conservatives get the idea that people are swayed by a media that is "liberal" or "fake?"

The assumption that one can be so easily influenced by outside biases must come from those who have experienced media having such an influential hold on their own lives.

Many conservatives are so invested in and fanatical about their chosen media "authorities" that they honor them as infallible and worthy of defining their opinions and ways of thinking.

Many of their viewers fully embrace blatantly biased news and continually bend to the inclinations toward redefining journalistic and editorial standards and integrity.

No wonder they assume we are all equally susceptible to media's whims.

The truth is there are many of us who have based our opinions and decisions on facts, policies and a view of President Trump that hasn't been tainted by the rose-colored glasses of Conservative media. We see Trump exactly for what he is - not what advocates or denouncers are portraying him to be - by how he presents himself in his tweets, speeches and policies.

We don't need any media - conservative or liberal - to help determine our opinions.

Ultimately the question is, if a medium is not overtly conservative, does that mean it's automatically liberal or "fake?" News is news. If Trump or Biden says something, we have proof.

If they push policies, we have factual evidence. Whatever editorial evangelizing is being presented from either side of the aisle, many Americans base their thoughts not on what they "want to hear" but what is truly being said.

As Thomas Paine, the writer who inspired the movement toward America's independence, once said, "Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits whatever is dictated to it."
