Honoring Constitution

Thursday, Sept. 17 was Constitution Day. The St. Charles Veterans Center held a peaceful gathering at the Freedom Shrine with guest speaker Allen J. Lynch, Medal Of Honor Recipient, Vietnam War.

What a great event and a great speech by Sgt. Lynch. He spoke of the importance of the Constitution and highlighted the fact that many of today's children need to have more education on the founding of this great country. He recited the Gettysburg Address from memory as he recalled growing up. Gave details of what the constitution provides to all people.

We need more of this type of education for those growing up today in a society who don't seem to fully understand what freedoms they have. I want to also thank the St. Charles Veterans organizations for having this event.
