Health care disparity
The health care systems of many developed nations, and especially those of liberal democracies, provide universal health care at less than half the U.S. per capita cost while achieving better health outcomes. This disparity is not surprising, because their systems seek to serve everyone's needs, whereas our system seeks to maximize corporate profits. As a result, the U.S. is experiencing declining life expectancy, especially for those at the lower end of the income/wealth spectrum.
