Treatment of police is disgraceful

In response to Mr. Zlotow's comment "So many good cops; Why so many bad?" Being a police officer means that you have to deal with the worst of humanity as part of your job. It means you are many times in your dealings with the public cursed, spat upon and threatened, sometimes with a weapon. Being exposed to this type of confrontation day in and day out would affect anyone's state of mind.

I often wonder how they manage. I am amazed that there are not many more officers "gone bad" and that we have so few incidences. The way we treat our police is in my opinion a disgrace. I commend all police for the job they are doing in the face of today's adverse opinion.
