Violent vs. civil protest
Saturday night, I lost all respect for ABC evening anchor Ravi Baichwal. During video footage of rioters breaking into stores and running out with looted merchandise, smashing car windows and setting police cars on fire, he had the audacity to refer to the mob as "civil protesters." Clearly Mr. Baichwal never studied the peaceful civil disobedience actions led by Dr. Martin Luther King or Mohandas Gandhi. Have we gone so politically correct that violent mob action is now civil protest? I certainly hope no one on the ABC Nightly News staff has reason to call 911 in the future, as police response may be a bit slower, now that over half a dozen CPD cruisers are burned out shells.
