A gift idea for Mom

As I sit here listening to WGN on my Google device, they are discussing how difficult it will be to get roses, chocolates, etc. to give on Mother's Day. As we all know, mothers' main aim in life is to nurture others. This Mothers' Day why not make a donation in your mother's name to a charity near where she lives if you think this would please her? None of us need more chocolate, as most of us are gaining weight during this seclusion. Despite the popular belief, many of us don't really care for red roses. What we do care for is knowing that hungry people are getting fed and cared for.

My birthday is Dec. 24, so instead of my children and grandchildren trying to find yet another gift for me, they donate to Peoples Resource Center, PADS, WDSRA or some other local charity, and in January, I get a thank you note for it. This brightens my January days. Consider it, those of you looking for a gift for Mom.
