Media disappointment

I am very disappointed with the media's role in the coronavirus panic. They have to take much of the responsibility for the overall hysteria, which has resulted in chaos and an economic upheaval.

In my opinion, the media has disregarded their code of ethics by reporting non truths, creating panic among the population and I firmly believe there is political motive to this. I never believed in the "fake news" accusations, but now I am having second thoughts. We are criticized in the media for being a country divided, yet they are turning this outbreak into a political issue, accusing the administration for not reacting quick enough and further fostering this division.

Get the facts straight and present them. The flu infects and kills far more people each year than this virus, yet I rarely see or hear news comparing the coronavirus occurrences with the flu. If the actual facts were presented like they should be, people would be comforted with the comparison.
