'Victory lap' earned

On Friday, Feb. 7, the Daily Herald headlines were "Angry Trump relishes aquittal" and "Remorseless president slams 'scum' and 'evil' impeachment." Last week was a good week for Angry Trump. After a remarkable jobs report of 225,000 jobs added in January, he was acquitted of any impeachable offense. Then he gave an awesome, heartfelt and unifying speech at the SOTU while also managing to rid the earth of yet another evil terrorist.

He did nothing, I repeat, nothing to warrant impeachment short of winning the election in 2016 and working doggedly and nearly nonstop to make the country greater. With all he has done to positively affect our job growth, our economy, our security and much more, what has he got to feel remorseless about?

Tell me why shouldn't he be allowed to vent a bit? After all that he has gone through since the beginning of his presidency and ending with this bogus impeachment and attempt to remove him from office, he deserves a "scorched earth victory lap."
